Apple Crumbs Vanilla Cake Recipe
Hello lovely people! So let's do some baking today...
I've always loved to try out new recipes and remodeling old recipes. But this time around I'm not only teaching a new recipe, I'm combining a new recipe with old basic one and I'm sure you'd love it. So let's start, shall we?
For Apple Crumbs
Ingredients:
8 Apples
1/2 Cup Balsamic Vinegar
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
1 Cup of Flour
1 Cup of Oats
25g Butter
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/gas
2. Peel and core the apples, then quarter and cut in to chunks.
3. Put the apples into a pan with 1/2 cup of sugar and balsamic vinegar, then cook over a low heat for 5 minutes to soften slightly, stirring occasionally, then tip into a small ovenproof baking dish.
4. Place the flour and oats in a bowl and mix well. Chop the butter into small cubes and add this to the oats and flour. Mix and rub in with your fingertips until it resembles an even crumb texture.
5. Add the remaining sugar and mix through, then cover the fruit with the crumble mixture.
6. Bake for around 20 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
For Apple Crumbs Vanilla Cake
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 10-inch-round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper; butter the parchment and dust the pan with flour, tapping out the excess.
Whisk 3 cups flour, the baking powder and salt in a bowl until combined. Beat butter and the sugar in a large bowl with a mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce the mixer speed to medium; beat in the eggs, one at a time, scraping down the bowl as needed. Beat in the vanilla. (The mixture may look separated at this point.) Beat in the flour mixture in 3 batches, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with flour, until just smooth.
Pour the batter into the pan. Pour the Apple crumbs on the batter. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes. Now this is where it gets dicey, when the cake is done, don't transfer to a rack like you would normally do for normal vanilla cake. Transfer into a flat tray so that the loose apple crumbs don't all fall off and the bottom of the cake is facing up. Let it cool in the tray for about 10 minutes. Then place another tray or flat plate over the bottom of the cake and flip over once. There you go!
